PC Zombie Game “God Save Birmingham” Gameplay Trailer Revealed

God Save Birmingham reveals proper bostin’ new gameplay trailer

Brat Summer is out, Brum Summer is in!

Kakao Games and Ocean Drive Studio have revealed a first look at the gameplay of the gruesome, zombie-infested world of God Save Birmingham. The latest trailer shows just how fast the midlands can turn into the mad lands.

In the IGN exclusive, players get a glimpse of what it will be like to step into the boots of a simple British farmer in mediaeval Birmingham. As if surviving the black plague wasn’t hard enough, players now have to battle a whole different sort of blight – Zombies. Brummie Zombies!

Check out the mediaeval madness for yourself here:

The hospitality of these cuddly 14th century Birmingham locals might see players become a key ingredient in a very unconventional Ploughman’s lunch: they will need to be vigilant; fending off hordes of undead friends and neighbours, foraging for supplies, and taking in the historically accurate* sights (*zombies may not have appeared in 14th century Birmingham) in this upcoming open world survival game.

In addition to this brand new trailer, players can get a glimpse of God Save Birmingham this May at PAX East!

The idyllic, deadly British countryside calls — or, more likely, moans and groans — for players to wishlist God Save Birmingham on Steam today!

To add my personal thoughts to this, as someone who grew up in the area (I was born in the industrial town of West Bromwich, right next to Birmingham) but my parents were both born there so I’ve always had strong ties to Birmingham. When I first heard about this game a few months ago I was immediately curious. Obviously, there won’t be many locations that will be all that recognisable, but it’s good to see that the city is featuring in a game as it’s often overlooked in the media.

One thing I do hope for is that the developers make use of some of the great local talent for any voice acting featured in the game rather than other actors trying to perform local dialects. Granted, most won’t notice but locals will spot a forced Brummie accent a mile away!
