Retro Game Downloads

Welcome to the Retro Game Downloads section of our website. Here you’ll find a selection of software for a wide range of retro computer and console formats as well as classic PC titles for your gaming enjoyment. Unlike many other gaming archives, all of the titles available to download from here are 100% legal and are included here with the permission of the original publishers and/or copyright holders. We spent a great deal of time negotiating for the rights to include many of these great games on the website and we hope you enjoy playing these as much as we do.

You’ll find plenty of other downloadable goodies elsewhere including our own classic Amiga and PC range of software, fanzines and other files but please feel free to explore and enjoy what’s on offer.

This part of the site will focus on what some people like to refer to as abandonware but this is a term that we don’t like to use here at Infinite Frontiers. All of the software featured here are games and applications that were once released commercially both for 8-bit and 16-bit computers and consoles but have since been made available freely by their copyright owners. Some publishers have made them freely available themselves through their own websites or released them openly. However, we have also negotiated directly with publishers for mos of the titles you’ll find here to bring them to you on the site and some you won’t find anywhere else legally.

We’ll be adding new titles to this section on a regular basis as we secure more games for you across a wide range of formats. Sadly we can’t take requests (as much as we would love to see some of our personal favourites here) but we’ll do our best to bring you a great selection of games.

In this part of the site you’ll find full games (and applications) across a range of formats. While most are for use on emulators, some can also be adapted to be used on the original machines themselves. We currently have software available for the Amiga, Amstrad, Atari (8-bit), Atari ST, BBC B, Commodore 16, Commodore 64, PC, Spectrum, Sega consoles, and the Commodore Vic 20 to name but a few! There are far too many titles to list here that we have licenced (we have over 200 to upload to the site at the moment and we only have some online right now) so just check them out for yourselves. We’ll be adding games from this archive daily so keep coming back to see what’s new and we hope you enjoy them all!

Because of the sheer volume of downloads on offer, we’re splitting this section to make it as easy as possible to find the games that you’re looking for. We have large collections from individual publishers / authors so these will have their own pages, and we’ll also have pages by format as well if you’d prefer to browse that way although the main part of the list will be split into games and applications.

If you need additional help, we’ll be setting up a support section on our forum and we’ll try to answer all your questions there.

In terms of the files themselves, the Amiga titles are online as either ADF, DMS or LHA archives. DMS and ADF files are ready to run on emulators directly or can be converted back to normal Amiga disks. For other systems, the files are in a suitable format for use with most common emulators although we try to source the best possible quality versions of the games to make available on the site.
