Star Trek Comic Writer, Ian Edginton Video Now Live

One of the highlights of the second season of Star Trek Discovery is the inclusion of Captain Pike. Until now, we have seen and heard very little about the early days of one of the Enterprise’s earlier captains and Spock… or have we? For those whose main interest in Star Trek has been the televised continuity, many will have missed out on Marvel’s second run with the comics. During that time, British writer Ian Edginton, along with his co-writer Dan Abnett, worked on Star Trek: Early Voyages. This short-lived series took a look at the adventures of the Enterprise under the command of Christopher Pike.

Being a native of Birmingham, we invited Ian along to attend one of the meetings of the Star Trek fan club we were running at the time, Alpha Quadrant. Ian talked to our members about working on the book as well as his extensive work on titles such as Batman, Aliens, Predator, Terminator, Robocop and the comics industry in general. This footage has been in our archives for over 20 years and is now being made available on our YouTube channel for the first time ever today!

We want to apologise for the quality of the footage, but this was filmed on a pre-digital video camera in the days of VHS-quality hardware! Anyway, we hope you enjoy it!
